Art in Trinidad and Tobago

Arnim Art Galleria ( South) has restored my faith in art in Trinidad and Tobago. The lovely team arranged for all the artist involved in the consignment show to be interviewed by Sweetlink.tt on Instagram about our work.

This was the first time that we all gathered together and interacted. It was wonderful meeting everyone and discussing art and positivity with the fellow artist.

Exhibitions in Trinidad and Tobago has been ghost towns during to the Covid restrictions and it is a shame that such beautiful and meaningful art has been hidden away.

Art plays a huge role in our lives from the clothes we wear to how we deisgn out homes but local talent gets buried under discouragement and rarely receives the appreciation it deserves.

Our culture vibrates with complexity and beauty but the representation has been limited so far, however change is on it's way.

You should not be able to smile or make happy memories without thinking about Shakulis Townsend. HE could’ve had a happy life without you and Danny McLean interfering..

I hope every night before you go to sleep you think about what you and Danny Mclean did to Shakulis Townsend.

Shakulis Townsend should’ve been able to experience things like this.
